Beacon’s Data Submissions provides a secure, centralized way to upload, validate, and process medical and pharmacy claims data, supporting efficient claims management and accurate 340B determinations. When you upload a claims file using the column-mapping feature, Beacon runs front-end validation checks to confirm required fields, proper formatting, and references to 340B-eligible entities and products.
Validation results are displayed through two complementary views: Original File View and Submission View. These views highlight errors, show validation states, and indicate which claim lines are eligible for processing — giving you clear visibility into what needs correction before filing your 340B claim.
Original File View
The Original File view displays a complete, unaltered list of every row from the uploaded file, and checks each line for formatting and eligibility-based validation. It uses three color-coded states to clearly identify which claim lines are eligible for submission, which need formatting corrections prior to submission, and which fall outside of eligibility requirements.
Eligible for Submission (Blue) – All eligibility requirements passed; no formatting errors; ready for back-end validation.
Invalid Data Type & Values (Red) – Missing required fields or invalid formats; file cannot be submitted until corrected in the source file.
Ineligible for Submission (White) – Data fails eligibility criteria; these rows are excluded, but other valid rows can still be submitted.
Tip: If all rows appear ineligible, Beacon will display a notification indicating that no lines are available to submit. For more information on front-end validation requirements and accepted formats, check out Pharmacy Claims Requirements Data Table and Medical Claims Requirements Data Table.
Submission View
The Submission view displays only claim lines that contain eligible values in all required fields. Every line shown here meets eligibility-based requirements. All rows are treated as "eligible" unless they contain formatting errors. Formatting errors are indicated using red cells. Formatting errors that might show up in red can include issues, such as invalid date formats, missing digits, extra characters, etc.
If any red errors exist in the Submission view, the entire file is blocked from submission until the errant rows are either rectified or removed from the file.
