An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a unique number assigned by the IRS to identify an organization for federal tax purposes. The CP-575, also referred to as the IRS EIN Letter, is the notice issued by the IRS confirming an organization’s EIN.
Use the EIN & CP-575 task in Workspace to review the EIN and CP-575 currently on file for a registered covered entity and update the information if it has changed.
Review your EIN & CP-575
To review or update the EIN and CP-575 on file for a covered entity, complete the EIN & CP-575 task in Workspace using the steps below.
Navigate to My Workspace.
Select the General category.
Locate and expand the EIN & CP-575 task.
Select the covered entity whose information you want to review.
Tip: If the covered entity is not displayed, use the 340B ID filter to select a specific covered entity or the Status filter to view To do, Complete, or All Tasks.
Review the Employer Identification Number and EIN & CP-575 (IRS EIN Letter) currently on file.
Confirm whether the existing information is correct:
Select Yes, the stored info does not require updating if the EIN and CP-575 are correct.
Select No, I need to update this information if either needs to be updated.
If an update is required, provide the updated EIN number and upload the new EIN & CP-575 (IRS EIN Letter).
Review and select Submit & Complete to submit the document and complete the task.
Once submitted, the EIN & CP-575 task is marked complete for the selected covered entity.
Note: Only one user needs to complete the task for each covered entity. Once completed, the task is also removed from the outstanding task lists of other users associated with that entity.
