Multi-factor authentication is a multi-step account login process that requires users to complete an authentication step in addition to entering their password. Often, an MFA will send a user an authentication code to their mobile device or email that can then be entered alongside the password.

To finalize your Beacon account, registering users will be asked to select their preferred multi-factor authentication method. Based on your preferences, select from SMS text, email verification or authenticator app.

The SMS text option will send a one-time code to the mobile number provided.
The email verification option will send a one-time code to the email address initially provided.
The authenticator app option will require registering users download and utilize an authenticator app to scan the QR code in order to generate a one-time code.

How to Setup Your Multi-Factor Authentication
Once the Beacon account is approved, select a password that meets all criteria.
Confirm the password selected by entering it again.
Select your preferred multi-factor authentication method. The method depicts how you will receive the authentication code every time you log in to Beacon.
Select the SMS text option if you want to send the one-time code to your mobile device whenever you log in to Beacon.
Select the email option if you want to send the one-time code to your email inbox whenever you log in to Beacon. If you select SMS text, email can be utilized as a back-up in instances when you are unable to access SMS texts.
Select the authenticator app if you currently have or wish to utilize a third-party authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
Download the third-party app from the app store.
Scan the QR code presented by Beacon.
Enter the one-time code from your authenticator app in Beacon.
After selecting your preferred method, enter the one-time code sent.
Once completed, you will arrive at your Beacon home page.
Each time you log in to your Beacon account, you will be sent a one-time code through the selected method. If you need to change your MFA method, please reach out to the Beacon Support team at [email protected].
