How to Invite a Partner to Your Entity

Learn how Admins can add a Partner to a covered entity and assign their level of access in Beacon.

Partners can include third-party administrators (TPAs), consultants, and other organizations that need access to data on behalf of a covered entity. Admins can add Partners to one or more covered entities using an Access Token provided by the Partner.

The covered entity must already be registered in Beacon, and you must have the Partner’s Access Token before you can add them.

Tip: Partners can use access tokens to connect with covered entities to access Beacon's API and SDKs. To learn more about how partners can get and share access tokens, check out Partner Access Tokens in Beacon.

Invite a partner to your covered entity

  1. Navigate to the Covered Entities module, located in the left-hand side navigation.

  2. Select the covered entity you want to add the Partner to from the Entity dropdown.

  3. Click Invite New Partner.

  4. Enter the Access Token provided to you by your Partner, which grants them access to your entity's data.

  5. Assign Partner permissions based on their requested level of access.

    1. Read: allows a Partner to view data for this covered entity, but cannot submit or edit data themselves.

    2. Read/Write: allows a Partner to view and submit data for this covered entity using Beacon's API and SDKs.

  6. Click Add Partner.

Confirm partner access

After the Partner is added, they will appear on the Partners tab for the covered entity.

The Partners tab displays all Partners associated with the entity and their assigned permission level. Admins can use this page to confirm Partner access and revoke access when it is no longer needed.
